For expert floor sanding services in Auckland

Why should I get our solid wooden floors sanded and polished?
  • Refreshing your floors will give them a new lease of life and will add value and equity to your property.
  • Timber floors last longer than carpet, vinyl, tiles and other laminate floorings, which if well cared for, reduces the need for replacing later – which is great if you rent or lease your property too!
  • Ideal for people with allergies.  Solid wooden flooring don’t get carpet mites or other nasty’s and easy to keep clean and dust free. Keep your family safe!
What if I'm not in Auckland, do you travel?

Can I stay in my home while my floors are being restored?

During the initial stage of floor sanding you can stay in your home, however in the final stages of floor sanding we recommend that you find alternative accomodation. You will be unable to walk on the floor and the smell is very strong if we use moisture-cured polyurethane.

My timber floors have staples; will you remove them?

Absolutely, we endeavour to remove as much as we can without breaking them. If they don’t come out with ease, we may need to grind off some (which we do with a small grinder) prior to sanding the floor.

What is the difference between solvent and water based polyurethane?

Moisture cured is a solvent based polyurethane and is very strong smelling and takes 24 hours to harden. Waterbourne is a water based polyurethane which is non-smelling and only takes approximately 4 hours to dry. Waterbourne polyurethane is not toxic and non-yellowing. Both products take 3 days to fully cure.

Do you give quotes over the phone?

Yes! We can give you an estimate for what your job may cost over the phone, if you can supply us with measurements, photos and a description of the condition of your floor. However, your quote cannot be confirmed until we can view your job on-site.

Will I need to move my furniture?

Yes! All furniture needs to be removed prior to us coming in. The area being sanded and polished must be completely free.

Can you remove our existing carpet and underlay?

Of course! This will however incur additional cost.

How should I clean my floor?

We recommend that you clean your wooden floors monthly with a slightly damp mop. To wash your hardwood floor, it’s best to use 1/4 of a cup of mild detergent in a bucket of warm water. Be sure to wring out your mop thoroughly, then re-wash your floor with just clean water (to remove any residue). Finish off, by buffing your timber floor with a clean dry towel (preferably lint free). This will remove any excess moisture and will allow your floor to retain it’s beauty for many years to come.
